Boston Mushroom Shop Near Me: 7 Best Options in 2026 (With Locations)
When you search “Boston mushroom shop near me,” you’re asking a question that has more good answers in 2026 than it did even two years ago. Boston’s mushroom wellness ecosystem has grown meaningfully — and with it, the number of credible, accessible destinations for everything from lab-tested Amanita muscaria gummies to premium functional mushroom tinctures to facilitated psilocybin experiences.
But “near me” means different things depending on where in or around Boston you’re located. If you’re in South Boston, the best mushroom shop in the city is essentially a short walk away. If you’re in Cambridge or Somerville, you’ve got a walk-in option across the river and same-day delivery in your own decriminalized backyard. If you’re in the wider metro, online delivery can put a legal mushroom product on your doorstep by tomorrow.
This guide maps every legitimate mushroom shop option available to Boston residents in 2026 — ranked by overall quality, with proximity context built in so you can find the right option for exactly where you are. Every entry is a real, verifiable business. No hype, no guesswork. Here’s everything worth knowing about finding a Boston mushroom shop near you.
A Quick Note on What “Mushroom Shop” Means in Boston in 2026
Boston mushroom shops in 2026 fall into a few distinct categories, and which one is right for you depends on what you’re actually looking for. Here’s a plain-English breakdown before the full rankings:
- Legal wellness retail — Shops like deVINE Boston and The Mushroom Shop sell legal, psilocybin-free mushroom products. deVINE carries Amanita muscaria gummies, mushroom chocolates and functional mushroom products for adults 21 and over (Amanita muscaria is not a federally controlled substance, though the FDA has not authorized it as a food ingredient), while The Mushroom Shop focuses on culinary mushrooms.
- Psilocybin delivery (decriminalized areas only) — In Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford, city governments have made personal psilocybin possession a low enforcement priority, and services like ShroomsEasy and the Boston Mushroom Club advertise same-day delivery there. Those city policies cover personal possession and use; they do not authorize selling or delivering psilocybin, which remains illegal under Massachusetts and federal law.
- Online delivery statewide — EarthE CBD ships legal Amanita muscaria products to any Massachusetts address. No walk-in required.
- Facilitated psilocybin access — Sacred Earth Sanctuary (Salisbury, MA), a church that uses psilocybin as a sacrament, and Psychedelic Passage, which connects clients with guides, offer facilitated psilocybin experiences. Neither holds a state or federal license or exemption, and psilocybin remains illegal in Massachusetts. Not “near me” in the traditional sense, but accessible to any Boston resident.
With that framing clear, here are the 7 best Boston mushroom shops near you in 2026, fully ranked.
#1 — deVINE Boston 🏆 (Best Boston Mushroom Shop Near Me — South Boston)
📍 Location: South Boston, MA | 🌐 devineboston.com | 🚇 Nearest T Stop: Broadway (Red Line) | 📅 Est.: 2019
If you’re searching for a mushroom shop near Boston and want a walk-in retail experience that combines legal product selection, verified third-party lab testing, and expert staff guidance under one roof, there is one destination that stands clearly above everything else in the city: deVINE Boston.
Founded in South Boston in 2019, deVINE has built the kind of institutional trust that most mushroom shops — nationally, not just locally — haven’t earned yet. Every product on their shelves is backed by a Certificate of Analysis from a third-party lab. Every staff member is trained to give honest, knowledgeable guidance rather than sales-optimized half-answers. And the shop has spent seven years navigating regulatory scrutiny — including documented attention from federal agencies — by responding with transparency and documentation rather than evasion. In a market where accountability is genuinely scarce, deVINE has made it their foundational differentiator.
For Boston residents on the Red Line, Broadway station puts you within easy walking distance. Drivers have street parking and nearby garages — South Boston is consistently accessible from most parts of the metro. And for anyone who wants to browse the shop’s catalog before visiting in person, deVINE’s website carries the same lab-documented product range with statewide shipping.
What’s In Stock at deVINE Boston’s Mushroom Shop
- Amanita muscaria gummies — Muscimol-based products in multiple flavors and potencies, third-party lab tested. Amanita muscaria is not a federally controlled substance, but the FDA has not authorized it as a food ingredient. deVINE’s flagship psychedelic-adjacent product category.
- Functional mushroom tinctures — Lion’s mane, reishi, cordyceps and chaga, species being studied for a range of possible effects, though human evidence is still limited. Full-spectrum fruiting body extracts.
- Microdose capsules — Non-psilocybin daily-use formulations without acute psychoactive intensity. These products have not been evaluated by the FDA for any health effect.
- Mushroom chocolates — Amanita and functional mushroom-infused bars, one of the shop’s most consistently popular product categories.
- Adaptogenic mushroom blends — Multi-species blends that combine several functional mushroom species.
- Hemp-derived THC and CBD products — Farm Bill-compliant items that complement a broader mushroom wellness practice.

#2 — The Mushroom Shop, Somerville (Best Mushroom Shop Near Cambridge & Somerville)
📍 Address: 433 Medford St., Somerville, MA | 📞 (617) 718-0570 | 🚇 Nearest T Stop: Gilman Square (Green Line Extension)
For Boston-area residents on the north side of the river — Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, and surrounding neighborhoods — The Mushroom Shop on Medford Street in Somerville is the nearest dedicated walk-in mushroom retail destination. Founded in 2022 by forager and fungi expert Tyler Akabane, who spent a decade supplying some of Boston’s finest restaurant kitchens before opening the shop, it’s one of the most expert-run mushroom specialty shops in Greater Boston.
As WBUR covered at the time of its opening, the shop reflects Akabane’s deep, practical knowledge of fungi, from field identification to foraging ecology. It focuses on fresh and dried culinary mushrooms such as chanterelles, black trumpets, hen of the woods, morels and porcini, along with mushroom condiments, books and seasonal produce.
The Mushroom Shop doesn’t carry psilocybin or Amanita muscaria products. But for anyone who wants high-quality culinary and foraged mushrooms with real expert guidance, there’s no better nearby option. Akabane’s seasonal New England foraging tours extend the shop’s educational mission well beyond its retail floor.
Proximity highlight: Accessible via the Green Line Extension’s Gilman Square stop; a 10–15 minute ride from Cambridge’s Porter or Davis Square neighborhoods.
Best for: Cambridge, Somerville, and north-of-the-river residents wanting premium culinary mushrooms and genuine expert guidance within walking or biking distance.
#3 — Boston Mushroom Club (Best Mushroom Shop Near Me — Cambridge, Somerville, Medford)
📍 Delivery Area: Cambridge, Somerville, Medford | 🌐 bostonmushroomclub.com | 🛒 Format: Community Platform + Same-Day Delivery
For residents of Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford — the three Boston-area cities that have made personal psilocybin possession a lowest law-enforcement priority (it remains illegal under state law) — the Boston Mushroom Club is the nearest mushroom shop experience that doesn’t require leaving home. Operating as a membership-based community platform with same-day delivery, the Club has built something meaningfully different from a simple delivery app: a genuine community of informed, intention-driven mushroom users with educational resources and peer support built in.
The Club’s educational layer is one of its most important features, particularly for first-time users. Research by Boston-based and nationally prominent psychedelic scientists consistently shows that set and setting — the psychological mindset and physical environment surrounding a mushroom experience — are among the most powerful determinants of whether that experience is beneficial or destabilizing. The Boston Psychedelic Research Group, a Massachusetts nonprofit that hosts regular public meetings on psychedelic research, is one local source of that kind of education.
For residents of these three decriminalized municipalities, the Boston Mushroom Club offers something no physical walk-in shop currently delivers: psilocybin delivery to your door the same day, embedded in a community that cares about how you use it — not just whether you do.
Proximity highlight: No travel required — delivery to Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford addresses. The “nearest mushroom shop” for decriminalized-area residents who want psilocybin specifically.
Best for: Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford residents who want same-day mushroom delivery backed by genuine educational resources and peer community support.
#4 — EarthE CBD (Best Mushroom Shop Near Me — Online, Ships Statewide)
📍 Serves: All of Massachusetts — mail delivery | 🌐 earthecbd.com | 🛒 Format: E-Commerce
If “mushroom shop near me” means you want legal mushroom products delivered to your door in Boston without driving to South Boston or crossing the river to Somerville, EarthE CBD is the most credibility-compliant online option shipping to Massachusetts in 2026. For residents of neighborhoods where no physical mushroom shop is conveniently located — Dorchester, Hyde Park, East Boston, Allston-Brighton, Jamaica Plain, and the wider suburban metro — EarthE puts lab-verified Amanita muscaria gummies at your address, legally, without a trip required.
Their product range — built around standardized muscimol extract from Amanita muscaria — is backed by published third-party Certificates of Analysis, with vegan and gluten-free formulations in multiple flavors and potency levels. The dosing guidance EarthE provides reflects genuine product understanding: Amanita muscaria’s effects are sedating and GABA-mediated rather than serotonergic, producing an experience meaningfully different from psilocybin, and EarthE’s documentation helps first-timers manage that distinction with appropriate expectations.
EarthE ships to every Massachusetts address, making it the most geographically universal option on this list — effectively the mushroom shop “nearest” to any Boston-area resident who prefers ordering online. The one real gap versus an in-person destination is real-time staff guidance, which matters most for first-time Amanita users still calibrating their experience.
Proximity highlight: Ships to every Massachusetts ZIP code — the literal nearest mushroom shop for most of the Greater Boston metro if online delivery counts.
Best for: Greater Boston residents in neighborhoods without a convenient walk-in mushroom shop who want legal Amanita products delivered to their door with strong lab documentation.
#5 — ShroomsEasy (Best Same-Day Mushroom Delivery Near Boston)
📍 Delivery Area: Cambridge, Somerville, Medford | 🌐 shroomseasy.com | 🛒 Format: Same-Day Delivery
ShroomsEasy is the most efficiency-focused option on this list — the mushroom shop equivalent of a well-optimized delivery app, built for users in Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford who know what they want and value speed and simplicity above everything else. No storefront to visit, no community orientation, no educational onboarding. Just a clean ordering flow, a same-day delivery window, and consistent execution.
For residents of these three decriminalized municipalities, ShroomsEasy has built a reliable track record as a trusted access point specifically for psilocybin products. The political context matters: Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford have each passed formal resolutions making personal psilocybin possession their lowest enforcement priority. Those resolutions address personal possession and use only; they do not authorize selling or delivering psilocybin, and ShroomsEasy holds no state or federal license.
The service’s veterans discount program — offering reduced-price access for military veterans — is one of the more meaningful differentiators among Boston-area psilocybin delivery services. Research on psilocybin for PTSD is still at an early stage and psilocybin is not approved for any medical use, so veterans interested in psychedelic treatment are better served by talking with a clinician or looking into registered clinical trials.
Proximity highlight: Same-day delivery to Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford — no travel required for decriminalized-area residents who want psilocybin without the community membership layer.
Best for: Experienced users in decriminalized areas who want the fastest, most friction-free same-day mushroom delivery with no extra overhead.
#6 — Sacred Earth Sanctuary (Nearest Ceremonial Psilocybin Option to Boston)
📍 Location: Salisbury, MA (~40 miles from Boston) | 🌐 sacredearthsanctuary.com | 🛒 Format: Church Sacrament Ceremony
Sacred Earth Sanctuary is not a mushroom shop in the walk-in retail sense — but for the Boston resident whose “near me” search is specifically for access to actual psilocybin in a ceremonial setting, it’s the nearest organized option in the state. Located in Salisbury, Massachusetts, roughly 40 miles north of Boston near the New Hampshire border, Sacred Earth describes itself as a 508(c)(1)(A) nonprofit church that uses psilocybin as its primary sacrament. It does not hold a DEA exemption, and religious-freedom defenses for psilocybin use are decided case by case.
Churches like this often point to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2006 Gonzales v. O Centro ruling, which allowed one religious group to use a controlled substance under RFRA, but that decision did not create a blanket exemption for other groups, so participants still carry legal risk. Membership requires a screening and review process but not adherence to any specific religious tradition. Ceremonies are professionally facilitated, intentionally structured, and held in a safe environment. Transportation from Boston Logan Airport is available on request.
For Boston-area residents who have exhausted legal alternatives and specifically want the full psilocybin experience without traveling to Oregon or Colorado, Sacred Earth is the nearest organized ceremonial option. The 40-mile distance is real — but for many Bostonians, the drive or arranged transport is a reasonable trade for a facilitated psilocybin ceremony in a structured setting.
Proximity highlight: ~40 miles from Boston, approximately 50–60 minutes by car. Transportation from Logan Airport available on request.
Best for: Boston adults who want actual psilocybin in a ceremonially facilitated environment, without traveling outside Massachusetts.
#7 — Psychedelic Passage (Best “Mushroom Shop Near Me” — Comes to You)
📍 Service Area: In-home, Greater Boston + nationwide | 🌐 psychedelicpassage.com | 🛒 Format: Vetted Concierge Guide Network
Psychedelic Passage flips the “near me” concept entirely: rather than you traveling to a mushroom shop, their vetted psilocybin guides travel to you — anywhere in Greater Boston. For the Boston resident approaching mushrooms with therapeutic intent rather than purely recreational curiosity, this model offers something no physical shop can: a fully structured, professionally supported psilocybin experience delivered in the safety and privacy of your own home.
Their program follows the three-phase structure used in clinical research: preparation sessions that build psychological readiness and clear intention, a guided ceremony in a chosen environment with a trained facilitator present throughout, and structured integration sessions afterward to translate insights into lasting change. This preparation, session and integration structure mirrors the approach used in psilocybin trials at Johns Hopkins and NYU, though psilocybin is not approved for any medical use and outside a trial it remains illegal in Massachusetts.
In the context of a “mushroom shop near me” search, Psychedelic Passage is an unusual but genuinely valuable answer: zero travel required, maximum professional support, and a level of therapeutic scaffolding that no walk-in shop can replicate. Massachusetts bills H.2203 and H.1624, active in the state legislature in 2025, would eventually formalize a similar model — but Psychedelic Passage is available right now, to anyone in Greater Boston with the intention and readiness to use it.
Proximity highlight: Zero travel required — guides come to any Greater Boston location. The ultimate “near me” mushroom shop for therapeutic psilocybin access.
Best for: Greater Boston residents approaching psilocybin with therapeutic intent who want full professional support without any travel required.
